ANDY PERLMUTTER

President & Chief Executive Officer

Andy Perlmutter is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Affiniti and was named to that position in 2014.

Prior to being appointed to CEO,  Andy served as President and CEO of Better World Books (2009-2013) where he led the company during a period of recognition from INC 500/5000 as one of the fastest growing privately held companies for two consecutive years. The company also received recognition from Internet Retailer as one of the 500 largest E-commerce companies during each year of his tenure, EPA Waste Wise Partner of the Year Award, and the “Best for the World Award” for overall positive environmental and social impact.

Mr. Perlmutter’s career was launched as a successful entrepreneur with his first company being acquired by GE Capital in 1993 and his second taken public on the NYSE and ultimatley sold to another publicly traded company in 2000. 

As Senior Vice President of LexisNexis Risk Solutions (2004-2007) Andy served in senior leadership in the “Big Data” and analytics field leading a team of over 300 professionals.  During his tenure with LexisNexis, Andy oversaw product development, business development and corporate-wide commercial sales initiatives with accountability for over $300 million of annual sales. 


IRA LEVY

Chief Operating Officer

Ira Levy is the Chief Operating Officer of Affiniti and was named to that position in 2014. 

Mr. Levy led the creation of the One Maryland Inter-County Broadband Network consortium which received a $110 million federal Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grant, the second largest nationally.  He led the consortium as Chief Information Officer of Howard County, Maryland (2010). Ira was personally recognized at the White House Champions of Change (2012). Additionally, the One Maryland initiative was named 2012 Best in Category by the National Association of Counties (NACO) and as the 2011 Fiber Network of the Year by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA).

Subsequently and prior to joining Affiniti, Mr. Levy served as the Chief Executive Officer of Torrential Systems (2013), an IT development company. 

Mr. Levy holds a Master’s Degree in Information & Telecommunications Systems and an MBA – both from Johns Hopkins as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Central Florida.


CYNTHIA SCHULTZ

General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

Cynthia Schultz is the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of Affiniti.

Ms. Schultz was Director of Compliance and Audits for the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) at the National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA – 2009 – 2010).

As a partner at Patton Boggs LLP, Ms. Schultz focused on FCC Universal Service matters and E-rate compliance (2006 – 2009, 2011 - 2013).

Prior to Patton Boggs LLP, Cynthia held senior positons at the Schools and Libraries Division at the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), managing service provider operations.  She also served in management roles at WorldCom and MCI, focused on regulatory policy matters.

Ms. Schultz earned her J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and her B.A. from George Washington University.


MONICA ALBANO

Senior Vice President - Human Resources

Monica Albano serves as Affiniti’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources.


Ms. Albano has over 30 years in human resources leadership.  Most recently, at Bloomberg L.P., Monica managed human capital aspects of integration of the BNA acquistion (2012).


Ms. Albano served with Reed Elsevier for a decade, progressing to the post of Vice President of Human Resources for REI, Inc., the U.S. Operations.  She was the Executive Vice President of HR for Reuters Americas and held senior leadership roles in human resource positions with Continuum Health Partners, Vertrue, R.D. Gatti & Associates and The Stop & Shop Companies.


Ms. Albano holds a Master of Education Degree from Antioch University.
